For doing the Kanamo peak trek, we need to start the drive from Manali to the Kaza. This is a beautiful drive throught the Spiti valley. Post the Rohtang pass, we take a right towards Chandrataal and proceed. On crossing the pass just after the Chandrataal, we enter the Spiti valley. It is here on when we see mountains with shades or pink and greens. These shades of the Himalayas can not be seen anywhere else.

Kanamo Peak

Kanamo peak is a moderate to difficult graded trek that needs a good fitness level to complete. We gradually gaon altitude till 15,750fee which is the base for Kanamo. After a day's acclimatization here we attempt Kanamo peak trek at 19,800 feet gaining the remaining altitude in one stretch. This is why prior trekking experience of atleast one 15,000 feet trek is suggested.

It is important to carry the right equipment and gears for Chadar trek ladakh. The cold and dryness needs to be negotiated with the right quality equipment. Head gears, layering for the neck, upper layers, lower layers, inner-wears, socks and shoes, all need to arranged/ purchased keeping in mind the negative temperatures. It's good to have a word with us once before spending money on the equipment to get a better idea of the products available in the market.

Valley of flowers trek 



The trek starts from Govind Ghat which is well connected through the highway. The trek from Govind Ghat to govind Dham (also known as Ghangharia) is about 10 Kilometers with the last 4 kilometers ascending in to Ghangharia. From Ghangharia, Valley of flowers trek is about 5 kilometers with a moderate ascend. There are no shops or kiosks on the way so the lunch has to be carried along. There are though water sources for drinking water.

Stok Kangri Trek

The route to Stok Kangri trek starts from Stok village. Post a 3 hour walk from Stok village you reach Chang Ma and halt for the day. You can setup you camp here and cook your food as well. Next day you have to hike for about 3.5 hours to reach the next stop, Smankarmo. Again you can pitch your tents here and cook your food as well. Next day you will trek for 4 hours to reach the base camp and spend the day in acclimatizing around the area. You can either rest for a day here or make the attempt to summit next night as well.
