Chandrashila Trek

Chopta Chandrashila Trek
 

Chandrashila Trek starts from Chopta and covers a distance of 5 kms to the peak. The Trek is accessible throughout the year. The overall distance covered during the Trek is 5kms. It starts from Chopta and takes you to Tungnath Temple which is one the highest Shiva Temple in the world. The distance from Tungnath Temple to Chandrashila summit is 1km. The route from Tungnath temple is steep and hence become challenging and rigorous specially in winters.

Before you decide to try Kang Yatse at 6250 Meters, you must try and summit Stok Kangri Trek at 6153 Meters. Stok Kangri trek  is the easier of the two and it will let you know what you will encounter in summit climbs. Also, Stok Kangri is a non-technical climb and is slightly easier than Kang Yatse. It is situated in Ladakh region in J&K, in India. The climb for both can only be attempted during the summer months every year.

Prashar Lake Trek has a Three Storied Pagoda styled Temple dedicated to Rishi Prashar. It was built in 14 th century by then the King of Mandi “Raja Ban Sen”. The Temple is looked after by a Rajput priest. The Lake is also considered to be sacred and people of different faith comes and offers gold, silver coins or money by throwing into the lake water. People here are restricted to fetch or access the lake water. If they need the water from the Sacred Lake it has to be requested from the priest and the Priest will get the water. The Lake is well fenced in order to make sure that no one accesses it.
